It's start from...Everyday people throw away large amount of garbage. Some of this garbage was treated properly while some were left in the environment. This act may be intentional or unintentional, but they both have a great impact on nature such as in National Parks, mountains and sea shores.
One of the main issues in Thailand is that there is a large amount of garbage found in the some famous shore lines and the ocean which is disturbing the natural habitat and its ecosystem, and threatening the marine life. Where does this garbage come from? These trashes come from tourists that behave carelessly by throwing garbage into the sea and from the trash being dump into the city river and eventually reaching the ocean. In 2010, I visited Sri Chang Island and had the opportunity to talk to the locals about their environmental problems and its management. What I found is that one of their main problems is waste management and how many garbage are found on the shore lines. This garbage also come from the mainland dumps into the rivers and finally washed up to the island. Eventually this garbage affects the marine ecosystem and its wild life. From this point onwards that sparks my interest about the waste found in the ocean and the shorelines. |
